Pick n Pay aimed to create an engaging and festive Easter experience for their customers, breathing new life into the traditional Easter egg hunt. The challenge was to create a virtual adventure inside the physical store, hiding thousands of Easter treats for customers to find and enjoy, while also offering a substantial prize pool.
We designed a one-day-only Virtual Egg Hunt event across Pick n Pay Hypermarket stores nationwide. We leveraged AR technology to hide virtual Easter treats throughout the store, accessible between 9am and 1pm. Each discovered treat could potentially translate into a real-life prize, making the hunt both exciting and rewarding.
The Virtual Egg Hunt was a resounding success, bringing joy to Pick n Pay customers and promoting active engagement with the brand. With an astounding R500,000 in prizes, the event successfully transformed the traditional Easter shopping experience into an unforgettable and interactive adventure. This unique event demonstrated how AR can seamlessly blend the digital and physical shopping experience.
