At Infobip’s annual Shift conference, a premier event where developers are immersed in the latest advancements in tech, the company wanted to elevate their attendee experience. As part of the event, Infobip introduced the Shift Quest—a 7-stage adventure designed to engage participants by challenging them to decode clues for a chance to win exciting tech prizes.
More than just a fun engagement tool, the Shift Quest served as a showcase for the power of WhatsApp chatbots and their ability to revolutionize customer interaction. Infobip wanted the grand finale of the Quest to go beyond traditional engagement. Their challenge to us? To integrate an immersive augmented reality (AR) experience directly into the chatbot, offering attendees an unforgettable, interactive conclusion to their adventure.
Approach
Partnering with Infobip, and our system integration partner Codified, Inner Reality delivered a three-day immersive experience at the iconic Shift conference in Zadar. The mission? To create an engaging finale for the Shift Quest, where attendees could participate in a virtual AR hunt for ducks to complete their flock and win a range of prizes.
Enter the Shift Quest AR Hunt—an interactive adventure that allowed participants to hunt for three virtual ducks using augmented reality. Once they completed their flock, attendees were entered to win exciting prizes, including branded merch, AirPods, Meta Oculus Quest 2 headsets, and Nintendo Switches. Access to this immersive experience was seamless, as it was triggered directly from Infobip’s WhatsApp chatbot via the api built by Codified.
The AR experience was strategically enhanced with geotargeting, ensuring virtual tokens were only available to those attending the conference, thus showcasing the full power of the WhatsApp chatbot integration. The final prize draw added an extra incentive, encouraging attendees to explore the event further and fully immerse themselves in the experience.
What truly set this activation apart was the introduction of a groundbreaking feature—a first-of-its-kind WhatsApp chatbot integration. This allowed us to streamline the registration process, eliminating barriers to participation. With auto-registration directly through the chatbot, attendees were seamlessly onboarded into the experience, maximising engagement.
