At AI Expo Africa and Africa Tech Festival, we set out to demonstrate how a gamified event marketing campaign can transform a standard exhibition booth into an interactive experience. The goal was to attract attendees, drive participation and capture high-quality leads in real time.
Our Approach
We built a gamified, web-based experience designed to act as a booth magnet, drawing attendees in through a simple scan-to-play interaction. Participants entered a reward-driven experience where they could engage, compete and unlock prizes instantly.
By combining gamification with real-world incentives, the activation encouraged participation and created a steady flow of traffic to the stand. This approach not only increased engagement but also enabled seamless first-party data capture, turning interaction into qualified leads.
How It Worked
The experience was delivered through a mobile-first journey, accessible via a QR code and requiring no app download. Distributed across event communication channels and on-site touchpoints, attendees could instantly join the experience.
Users entered a scan-to-win game, interacted with branded content and unlocked rewards in real time. Each interaction captured valuable lead data, while the reward mechanic encouraged participation and repeat engagement.
By combining gamification, rewards and seamless access, the campaign turned booth interaction into an engaging, data-driven experience.
